I don’t know what I think about cyberbegging, I will say that this is something that I will be looking into so I can form an opinion myself. Do most of the people spend irresponsibly? No way of knowing I suppose. After my husband was laid off last year, we ended up losing 99% of everything we owned (we= myself, my husband, and our 3 children 11, 10, and 6 at the time). We ended up in 2 shelters over 10 months, and were also on food stamps and medicaid…but that is it. No cash assistance. No begging of any kind. We were helped by a system that we have always paid into. We had & have NO credit cards, as we have always lived within our means. Our credit history is excellent, his work history was perfect before the lay-off, and we are not and have never been involved with drug or alcohol. It was hard enough asking for help at the shelters, and then again with applying for food and medicaid. While living in the shelters, we found out that many of the beggars weren’t even homeless and it caused major friction between the shelter people and the ’street’ people (meaning, those who went HOME after they got off of the corner). Could some beggars really need help? Perhaps. Now, unlike street begging and cyber begging…a cyber beggar can go look for work all day whereas a street beggar can’t do anything unless they leave their corner. This is why I don’t know how to feel about this. Heck, I may even start a website, but not for my family…for the homeless in my area. Since leaving the shelter, my family has been slowly getting more solid footing (it’s been 5 months!). I now teach and volunteer at one of the shelters, and I also sit on their advisory board (!). I even took the next step…I am now enrolled in our local college to become a social worker so I can help more people! Anyway, I want to share MY story to show that it isn’t always people that spend recklessly that end up on hard times. Sorry for rambling…Oh, and the one thing I cannot understand is why, WHY, people are commenting asking for money from YOU!? LOL! Thanks for the article!

I get disabilty but it’s just not enough i am 48 and i have doctor biills and creidit cards.I t would be very gratefull for some kind of help if you could send some money if possible!!!!!.By the way i do have insurance!! but it does’t take care of all the bills.

My story is on my website I built tonight cause I’m in a bad spot. I have a one year old, and my husband left me. When my parents divorced they quit playing their bills and it all fell on my head cause i was a co user. Please check out my site and donate. Well i didn,t think i would ever be doing this , this this time last year i had my own little building busness , then on the 23 of june i had a bad crash breaking my neck and writing off my truck after whick i feel into depression whick led to me breaking up with my girlfriend so now i,m on my own suffering with clincal depression the wedding is off have nowhere to live and i,m sleeping on my daugthers floor so i would ask if anyone could help me restart my life so i can try and win my girlfriend back and start to live a normal life again at the moment all i want to do is die to be hornest anyway i don,t want to bore you with all my sad life so please help if you can this is a genuine cry for help thanking you
